Martinez’s substitute would revoke licenses for certain current license holders

House Majority Leader Ken Martinez’s substitute would revoke state driver’s licenses already issued to those who here in the country illegally if they do not meet certain conditions. Rep. Andy Nunez‘s proposal does not do that.

Under Martinez’s proposal, an illegal who currently has a driver’s license must within two years present a Matricula or foreign passport along with other documents that prove identity and New Mexico residency or have their licenses revoked.
