Senate Majority Leader says budget likely to come later today

Sen. Majority Leader Michael Sanchez, D-Belen, just told his colleagues in the Senate that HB2, the state budget proposal, will come to the floor today.

“It likely will be later tonight,” Sanchez said.

Sanchez appeared to say that bills that balance the proposed state budget also might come up for debate today. If so, that means coming up for debate will be the film production tax credit program and the pension swap that asks state workers and public school teachers to pay more toward their retirement.
